MicroAppli is a technology start-up developing applications and providing integrated solutions and services for mobile phones and other micro devices. The company was founded in 2004, by aspiring entrepreneurs from Singapore right after university and funded by investors from Silicon Valley. The company received support both from the university as well as from industry.
At the time of inception, the entrepreneurial environment of NUS provided the ideal oppurtunities for the company to network with industry heavyweights and leading edge technology research. The company is based in Singapore, which serves as an ideal 'test bed' for its new services and products before launching them in international markets.

Advisors
Dr. George M. WhiteDr. White is a seasoned entrepreneur and technologist from Silicon Valley. He founded three companies Auricle Inc., Koala Technologies, and NETalk Inc. All three companies were acquired by publicly traded firms in multimillion dollar transactions.
George is a shareholder and Chairman of the company board. Apart from providing some pre-seed funding to kick-start the operations, he has used his personal contacts in the US to help the company at both prototype & product development stage. He brings in not only vast experience in running start ups but also a very sound technical know how. Moreover, he also opens doors to a huge network of contacts in the VC and IT industry. He has proved to be an excellent mentor – personally guiding & encouraging the management team whenever needed.
Dr. Jochen Wirtz
Dr Jochen Wirtz (Ph.D. London Business School) is an Associate Professor of Marketing, and Co-director of the UCLA-NUS Executive MBA Program at the National University of Singapore. Jochen is one of the leading authorities in Services Marketing in Asia. His latest book "Services Marketing-People, Technology, Strategy," co-authored with Professor Lovelock of Yale University is one of the top two services marketing text books globally. Dr. Wirtz has received a dozen research and teaching awards, including the University-level 'Outstanding Educator Award' in 2003. Outside academia, Dr. Wirtz has been an active management consultant working with a number of consulting firms, including Accenture, Arthur D.Little, and KPMG. His work has been mainly in the areas of business development, strategy, and service management. Dr. Wirtz has consulted with blue chip clients such as Citibank, the Defence Science & Technology Agency in Singapore, LG Capital, MobileOne, Motorola, PCCW HKT, Philips Customer Care Centres, Shanghai Post and Telephone, Shell, SK Telecom, Singapore Airlines, Sony, and Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
